Band recording
Your band plays in one room — we capture groove, leakage and room tone while the engineer routes signals and keeps takes organised.

Playing together feels different from stacking parts alone. In our 38 m² live room in Wien Neubau, drums sit behind baffles, bass and guitars run through amps or DI, and vocals can move into one of 2 iso booths. Nohexevo sets mics and headphone mixes so you hear each other while we record controlled tracks ready for mixing.
Book by the hour with engineer at €158 or take the ten-hour day at €939 when you want an EP skeleton or album basics in fewer visits. Prep, amp placement and room layout are covered in band setup in the live room; for overdubs after the live date, see vocal recording.
Workflow
Planning
We align on setlist, tempo map and target takes per song. Tell us lineup, amp models and whether you need a click — we usually reply within 2 business days via contact.
Load-in
Position the kit, isolate amps on platforms, patch DIs. Headphone check for everyone; talkback from the desk with 24 inputs available.
Tracking
Live passes or foundation tracks with an overdub plan. The engineer flags best takes, notes issues and schedules breaks so fatigue does not wreck the last songs.
Hand-off
Multitrack WAV per instrument, session folder and optional rough mix to leave with. We keep archives 12 months — then delete local copies per privacy policy.
Lineups that fit the room
Typical bands are four to six players: drums, bass, two guitars, keys, vocals. Up to 7 people in the live room at once keeps space for cabling and safety. Larger choirs or horn sections often split: live core first, extras as overdubs in iso booths or vocal sessions.
Heavy setups with multiple cabinets are discussed upfront — we sometimes run quieter in the room and gain stage in the control area.
Live room and iso booths
The live room is 38 m² with treated zones for drums and amps. Two iso booths handle vocals or acoustic instruments without stopping the drummer. Windows to the control room keep eye contact; the engineer reads timing and body language.
The building has 3 rooms total — control, live and booths are separated so brass and guitar feedback stay manageable. Mic layout tips live in band setup in the live room.
Engineer and signal path
Every band session includes an engineer — part of €158 and €939. We use 16 preamps and the 24-channel desk; tracks hit the DAW with clear names for mixing here or elsewhere.
Everyone gets a personal headphone mix. Moderate volume in the room protects hearing and yields cleaner tracks — we prefer gain in the control path over screaming at the amp.
Day block vs hourly
The day rate €939 covers ten studio hours with engineer — suited to three to five foundation songs plus setup. Hourly €158 fits small projects, overdub afternoons or drum-and-bass-only sessions.
| Model | Price | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Per hour | €158 | Single song, overdubs, test mix |
| Day (10 h) | €939 | EP basics, full setup day |

FAQ
Can we bring our own amps?
Yes — share wattage and size beforehand so we plan power and space. Studio combos are available on request when not already booked.
How loud can we play?
We work at moderate stage volume with isolation. That protects neighbours and hearing and gives mics controlled dynamics — important for the later mix.
Is one day enough for a full album?
A €939 block usually covers several foundation tracks, rarely a full album with overdubs. Plan multiple days or combine a live day with hourly overdubs — we outline options via contact.
What if someone is ill?
Cancel free until 7 days before. Short-notice illness: deposit moves once to a replacement date within four weeks when possible — see terms.
Do you provide drum backline?
A standard kit with snare, toms and hardware is available; cymbals and snare are often BYO. Our setup guide lists heads we stock.
