Nohexevo

Podcast production

Interview, round-table or narration — at a shared table with matched mics, controlled room tone and an engineer who plans levels and edit logic from the first minute.

Two podcast hosts at table with mics and small mixer.

Podcasts succeed when speech stays intelligible — not when the sub-bass is loudest. At Nohexevo we record two to four speakers at the table at once, suited to dialogue shows, co-hosted formats and long conversations that fall apart at home because of room reverb or mismatched USB mics.

Florian Steiner handles recording lead and podcast engineering: routing, backup tracks, edit markers and export to common podcast formats. Book studio time only, edit-only offline, or both — depending on whether you want to listen live and mark pauses in the room.

Workflow

  1. Define format

Episode length, speaker count, intro/outro music and target platform (RSS, YouTube audio, internal). We propose mic layout and file structure.

  2. Setup

Table layout, pop filters, headphones for hosts, test line per voice. Short soundcheck before the real episode.

  3. Record

Conversation with markers or chapter notes. On mistakes: retake the sentence instead of hours of live editing.

  4. Edit and export

Remove pauses and flubs, match levels, export WAV/MP3 to spec — in session or afterward as booked edit hours.

Formats that fit the table

The table setup suits moderated dialogue: interview podcasts, two-voice narrative, internal comms or B2B shows with guest experts. Solo monologues are possible but do not always need multitrack — a shorter slot may be enough.

Live bands, large panels or audience in the room exceed the table; see band recording or ask via contact. Minimum age 16 for contracts; school projects with supervision by arrangement.

Studio versus home recording

At home, room tone, fan noise and mic distance drift — hard to keep consistent across twenty episodes. In the studio, acoustics, spacing and gain stay comparable week to week. That saves edit time and keeps your show listenable on headphones and in the car.

Before and during the session

Bring an outline or question list; optional jingle music as WAV without voice. We arm one track per speaker plus a sum for monitoring. Talkback explains when to pause or redo from the sentence start instead of pushing through errors.

Long episodes (over 60 minutes raw) need breaks — voices tire. We record audio only; video is your separate pipeline or sync later — no multicam studio.

Since 2019 we have hosted speech formats in Neubau — weekly interviews and seasonal series alike. Returning clients keep the same mic positions and a recognisable tone across seasons.

What basic editing includes

Basic edit means: remove obvious flubs and repeats, shorten long silence, do not aggressively strip breath, balance levels between speakers, tame harsh plosives. No full chapter restructuring without extra briefing — that is editorial work.

Edit-only is €74 per hour when you bring raw files recorded elsewhere. We quote studio plus edit transparently.

Delivery formats and metadata

Typical: MP3 128 or 192 kbps for RSS, plus WAV archive. Loudness follows podcast norms — not musical mastering, but no whispering guests beside loud hosts.

Chapter markers when you supply timecodes. ID3 tags with title and episode number if you send copy. You clear music rights before upload; we do not license stock music for you.

FAQ

How many episodes fit in a half day?

For 30–45 minute finished length with a prepared outline, often one episode including setup; two shorter formats are possible with minimal retakes. Edit time is extra.

Can I bring my own microphones?

Yes if XLR-capable and agreed upfront. Studio mics are available — usually faster to set up.

Do you provide hosting or RSS?

No. You receive files for your host. Platform contracts are between you and your provider.

How is this different from mastering?

Podcast production focuses on dialogue, editing and clear speech. Mastering is musical polish on finished mixes — useful for jingles, less for speech-only shows.

Can I review before publish?

Yes. With booked editing we send a draft; up to 2 rounds on edit details when included in the quote — not a full restructure without new briefing. Mark passages you want kept even if they sound rough — context matters more than perfect silence.
